In her own words…

I am passionate about what I do, and I love being able to hear, see, and understand people. I am an attachment focused therapist specializing in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). The type of therapy I offer utilizes relentless empathy and aims at getting to the heart of the matter; exploring and expanding on unseen and unspoken emotions, and helping people build courage to share these hidden emotions and express unmet needs.

The type of therapy I offer is about recognizing behavioral patterns in our life, and rather than criminalizing our behaviors, taking time to make sense of and understand the emotional motivations underlying our behaviors, and breathing compassion into the hurt space within us.

The type of therapy I offer ultimately works towards helping people feel safe, seen, heard, and understood. This new felt sense of understanding and meaning integration, often leads to people having the courage to express their unmet needs in their life in a way others can hear and understand, which often leads to these most essential needs becoming met.

While I am heavily rooted in attachment theory and EFT, I also have specialized training in other approaches such as Gottman Method Couple’s Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) . Using Gottman Method Couple’s Therapy, I am able to help couple’s identify their strengths and growth areas, and am able to give them research based tools and skills to help them improve their communication, friendship, conflict resolution, and enhance their shared meaning/values. Using CBT, I am able to assist my clients in identifying negative thought patterns and behavioral patterns supporting felt distress, and then am able to deepen the work by helping my clients learn and develop tools and skills to create new positive thinking patterns and new positive behavior patterns to lessen felt distress and promote emotional wellbeing. Using ERP, I am able to help those who struggle with any anxiety related disorders to heal their nervous systems from the inside out, as ERP is considered the “Golden Standard of Treatment of Anxiety and OCD”.

I love what I do and feel it is an honor to walk alongside my clients; to help them explore and expand their emotional experience, to help them connect to their most authentic selves, to help them build courage to express their authentic feelings, wants and needs, to help them build courage to feel the fear and walk through it anyway, and to help them rebuild and reconnect to the relationships that matter the most to them.
